Old Fashioned Quince Jam Recipe

Old fashioned quince jam recipe. Return liquid to pot and stir in sugar and lemon juice. Bring the water to a boil reduce to a simmer and cook the quinces for 45 minutes or so until the pieces are soft. It s so easy to make and uses only 3 ingredients.

Once two years ago i made it the old fashioned way standing by the stove and stirring a hot sticky mass until it became the colour of old gold. Take the pot off the heat. Remove from heat and cool overnight.
Place the lids on the jars and screw on the ring bands as tight as you can. Untie the bag toss the quince pulp into the bin or on the compost heap and rinse out the bag for future use. Cover reduce heat to medium low and simmer 1 hour.
I have made quince jam twice. Press the lids with your finger. If the lids stay down they are sealed.
Cook the quince. Place the pieces in a large soup pot or stew pot. Quinces sugar and lemon juice.
