Recipe Old Fashioned Biscuits
Bake for about 13 to 15 minutes or until golden.
Recipe old fashioned biscuits. In a small bowl combine the flours baking powder sugar salt and baking soda. Brush the tops with melted butter if desired. Place the biscuits onto a lightly greased or parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 400ºf for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Cut in cream cheese and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Use a circle biscuit cutter or a drinking glass to cut out your biscuits. When ready to serve preheat oven to 450f place biscuits on a baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
Once biscuits are frozen remove from the tray and place in a zippered freezer bag. Using a biscuit cutter cut dough into biscuits and place in pan. Cut with a two and a half inch biscuit cutter square or round both work.
Combine leftover scraps and continue re pressing and cutting until all dough is used. Slowly add the buttermilk and mix the ingredients together until they form a ball of dough. Stir in 1 4 cup buttermilk just until moistened.
Handle your products and dough as little as possible to prevent melting it. Mix all of your dry ingredients together. I use my flour straight from the freezer and butter straight from the fridge.
Pre heat your oven to 450f before you start so your cold biscuits can go right in after shaped. Pat dough to flatten to about 1 2 inch thick. Place cut biscuits in the prepared pan.
