Spread the pecans on a parchment lined baking sheet and roast in the 350 degree oven for 7 10 minutes until the nuts are fragrant. Set aside pie shell. Using a spoon thoroughly mix together the corn syrup eggs sugar butter vanilla. Stir in cornstarch until dissolved then stir mixture into pan.
Move oven rack to center of oven. Prebake crust 15 17 minutes.
