Recipe Red Beans And Brown Rice
1 15 ounce can red or kidney beans drained.
Recipe red beans and brown rice. 1 2 teaspoon salt pepper to taste. After beans have been cooking for an hour start brown rice. Fill pot with water to 2 above chopped vegetables and red beans.
1 1 2 cups diced bell peppers i mix red green orange or yellow 3 4 cup brown rice. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook 1 hour or until rice is tender.
In a large skillet over medium hi heat sauté onion garlic in oil for 2 minutes until soft. In a meduim saucepan cook onions garlic bell pepper in a few tsps olive oil until they are soft. 1 1 2 cups chicken stock or water.
Ladle into bowls over brown rice and top with diced green onions if desired remove the two bay leaves before serving. Cover and bring to rapid boil. After the beans have softened use a broad spoon to mash about 1 2 of the red beans into the side of the pot to thicken the mixture.
Add 2 bay leaves. Bring to a boil. Add the rice and chili powder stir.
In chicken fat or olive oil saute medium diced onion until just soft. Stir in chopped parsley. Bring to a boil.
