Recipe Red Beans And Rice Soup
Heat a large stockpot over medium heat.
Recipe red beans and rice soup. Add broth and beans and bring to a boil. Cook until the ham is lightly browned about 5 minutes. Add chopped bacon and cook until it just begins to brown.
Stir in red beans chicken stock hot sauce bay leaf and sausage. Add onion pepper and celery to the pan. Reduce heat to medium and season with salt.
The long simmer makes this soup silky and luscious if i can even describe a soup as that. The ham hock in red beans and rice is used to impart so much flavor to the dish. Add the beans and saute for 2 more minutes.
Add the chicken stock sausage beans ham and bay leaf to the vegetable mixture and simmer 15 minutes. Halve the sausage lengthwise and slice it crosswise about 3 cups rinse and drain the beans. Cook on high for 4 hours.
Heat the vegetable oil in a 3 quart saucepan over medium heat. Stir in tomato paste garlic and cajun seasoning until fragrant about 1 minute. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Medium chop the ham about 1 1 3 cups and add to the saucepan. Cook stirring occasionally until tender about 3 4 minutes. Transfer with a slotted spoon to a small bowl and set aside.
