Recipe Potato Cabbage Soup
Transfer to a blender in small batches and blend until smooth.
Recipe potato cabbage soup. In a large saucepan or dutch oven saute onion in butter until tender. Heat the oil and butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add to the cabbage and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Cook onion until golden in color. Add the cabbage scallions garlic and salt and cook until the cabbage is slightly softened about 5 minutes. Add cabbage and potatoes and stir to coat.
In a large saucepan heat broth over medium heat. Bring to a boil stirring frequently. Cover and simmer for 20 25 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Remove 1 3 cup of the cabbage and set aside for garnishing. Add stock bring to a boil reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Add 1 cup half and half to the broth mixture.
Stir in flour until well blended. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes until potatoes are tender. Combine the carrots potatoes onion cabbage garlic chicken stock olive oil thyme basil parsley salt and pepper in a stock pot over medium high heat.
Bring to a simmer and cook until the carrots are tender about 20 minutes. Add cabbage and potatoes. Add the chicken broth and potatoes and bring to a boil.
