Now don t get me wrong if all you have on hand is regular whole milk feel free to use it. Use zoats just as you would use oatmeal with favorite sweet or savory toppings or stir ins. The evaporated milk takes this old fashioned oatmeal recipe to another level.
Remove from the heat cover and let stand for 2 to 3 minutes. Place oats zucchini water and salt in a saucepan and bring to the boil. After adding the evaporated milk reheat to boiling.
Combine oats milk water salt and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. Continue to stir the oatmeal and add the sugar and cinnamon. For creamy oatmeal use milk.
While stirring constantly gradually add the oatmeal. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. Bring 1 cup water or nonfat or low fat milk and a pinch of salt if desired to a boil in a small saucepan.
Stir in 1 2 cup oats and reduce heat to medium. I just love the flavor it gives it. Cook stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.
