For pecan layer in another small bowl whisk egg and brown sugar until blended. Prepare dough for one 9 inch pie. Add brown sugar melted butter vanilla extract salt cinnamon and allspice to the bowl and combine.
Beat at low speed just until mixture is well. Pour into pie shell. Refrigerate until ready to bake.
Mash sweet potatoes with half of the butter 1 4 cup. Transfer into a large bowl. Cut the sweet potato in half and scrape the flesh out.
