Add vanilla and cooled cream sauce. As you can see in the photos for the 6 3 layer naked cake i used the crumbs and a stencil to create a heart on top of the cake. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment beat butter and sugar at medium speed until fluffy 3 to 4 minutes stopping to scrape sides of bowl.
Pour into three 8 cake baking pans that have been greased lined with waxed paper or parchment paper greased again and lightly floured. An old fashioned cake calls for old fashioned decorations. Sift all dry ingredients 6 8 times.
